Producers' Representative for the next Technical Advisory Committee meeting

We would like your comments

I am writing to explain how you can contribute your views to the discussions during meetings of the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC). The TAC oversees the operation of the Compost Certification Scheme (CCS). The panel is chaired by Professor Stephen Nortcliff and comprises representatives from the relevant stakeholders including the regulators, certification bodies, appointed laboratories and WRAP.

To enable compost producers (you!) to contribute we have also invited a representative from the recently established the CCS Producers’ Forum. If for any meetings this is not possible, a paper discussing a specific issue could be submitted to the TAC. Compost Producers attending the first meeting of the Forum in mid November discussed this and an article was published on the CCS web site following the meeting. The role of the representative is to attend the CCS TAC meeting to represent producers’ views and present any issues raised by the Forum. The representative will then feedback to the producers at the next forum meeting and through communications on the CCS web site.

We very much welcome an interest from Gregor Keenan who volunteered to be the CCS Producers’ Forum representative for the next CCS TAC meeting.

The next TAC meeting is held on Thursday, 15th January 2015 and we would like to invite you to provide your comments to Gregor on gregor@keenanrecycling.co.uk or by calling 01771 644 833.

Also, you may wish to know that we are inclined to propose a rotating representation at the CCS TAC meetings and are now in the process of discussing the details.
