REAL will be running a new half-day sampling workshop near Edinburgh on Friday 25th October for composting site operators and staff. The site is located a 20-minute drive away from Edinburgh Airport, with parking spaces available. We will confirm the address to attendees or interested parties.
This workshop will be based on REAL’s new sampling guidance, which replaces the previous ‘Guidelines on Sampling Compost’ document, issued in 2012. The sampling guidance has been updated from the previous document to reflect and include changes that have been made to BSI PAS 100, as well as changes to the British Standard BS EN 12579. The document intends to guide operators to take representative samples of their compost and ensure consistency of sampling.
The half-day practical workshop on 25th October will be free to attend on a first come first served basis and will run from 1.30-4pm. The workshop will start with an introduction to the new sampling guidance, followed by a demonstration of on-site sampling and ending with discussion on how to develop site standard operating procedures to support a consistent approach to sampling.
Please note, you will need to bring your own PPE.
