Renewable Energy Assurance Limited has published the first project report for the Test Method Working Group (TMWG). This follows several method review meetings and a successful stakeholder consultation on updates to the Physical Contaminants & Stones (PC&S) test methods for compost and digestate.
The report outlines the final technical changes regarding the cleaning of plastic contaminants, increased weighing accuracy, and a new multi-person verification process for identifying "sharps". These revisions are designed to improve laboratory consistency and reliability across the CCS and BCS schemes, particularly in light of new regulatory limits for plastics.
